Announcement for Prospective PhD Students

  • Scholarships at Deakin are limited and hence very competitive. A lot of applicants have quality A* publications. In order to maximize your chances of getting a scholarship, I advise you get in touch with me a lot earlier than your expected start date.

I strongly recommend you to visit my Lab Deakin Applied Machine Learning Lab as a visiting scholar (during summer break or during trimester) and work under close supervision of an existing Lab member. This will help you get some research experience as well as writing an excellent research proposal.

  • To be eligible for consideration of Scholarship at Deakin:
    • You must have an H1 Hons degree (or equivalent),
    • It is strongly recommended to have some research experience resulting in some publication (See above point),
    • You must have background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related disciplines.

  • If you have an external funded scholarship, get in touch with me directly.
